Lauren's wedding!!!

I have many, many vivid memories from my years at BYU. Many of those involve my dear, bosom friend Lauren (please tell me you got that Anne of Green Gables reference). We spent a lot of time 1)making awkward faces and 2)commiserating over our love lives (or lack there of) and how once we finally got married, it would be a miraculous event that would cause the angels in Heaven to sing praises that it FINALLY HAPPENED. We figured it would take a while because of these faces. Here are a few of my favorites:

first time pumping her own gas.

Pocahontas.

not sure what this is.

oh hey.

sneaking a pic during the devotional prayer.

dont worry, we also took a couple normal pictures...

Anyway, when i got the call this past February that Lauren and Jordy were engaged, i started crying. Lauren is one of my best friends. It is hard to put into words everything we went through together, so i'm not going to try. What I will say is this: she is the most beautiful person i know. really. she has a heart of gold. she understands how my brain works (and me, hers) more than anyone. and we share the same sense of humor-how rare and wonderful it is when that happens.

I've been looking forward to her wedding since I knew it was happening, so when my grandpa passed away a week before I was supposed to fly to Portland, I immediately became worried that I might not make it. Luckily, we were able to schedule the funeral for Friday morning. I rescheduled my flight to leave from South Carolina Friday night, so I could make it to the wedding Saturday. It was a tight schedule/busy weekend, but I was so glad I was able to make it work.

Saturday morning the bridesmaids gathered to get our makeup/hair done.

Then we were off! The Portland Temple is GORGEOUS. I may like it so much because it is so similar to DC, surprise :)

Are we at all surprised that Lauren was the most beautiful bride of life? I wish I got more pictures, sorry friends.

It was so good seeing old friends from Provo. Love these ladies :)

Bridesmaids at the temple.

Bridal party at the reception site.

I took a lot of pictures of the reception for Heather because I knew she would have died if she was there :) It was BEAUTIFULLLL and so Lauren. Just lovely.

About 5 minutes after i took that last picture my cab arrived to take me to the airport for my red-eye flight back to Columbia. I was not even in Portland for 24 hours, but the quick trip was worth it. If i had missed Lauren's wedding I would have regretted it for the rest of my life. The whole day was perfect-really. No drama, no fighting, happiness all around, gorgeous weather...the best day for a wedding.

Congrats to the happy couple!
